Alquimi Renewables and its farming operations group Island Growers Caribbean, are opening their latest farm in the Caribbean region in Antigua in time to meet the needs of the 2025/26 tourism season.
The Antigua farm will represent the company's newest environmental control designs, introducing dynamic evaporative cooling and robust water and air circulation controls designed by Borlaug, an 'agritecture' firm that specializes in commercial greenhouse design and engineering.

The customized greenhouse structure is supplied by Sprung Structures Ltd., a strategic partner of Alquimi which engineers and manufactures a wide array of pre-fabricated permanent structures for various applications. The greenhouse structure has been engineer-certified to withstand 175mph sustained wind load and 200mph gusts. This facility will be approximately 15,000 sf in total size and is designed to produce over 100,000 kg/annum of leafy green varieties, from its 8,320sf of benchspace. This is the first phase of a project expected to expand to up to approximately 100,000 sf of greenhouse area to meet the entire island's market demand.
Hydroponic benches are supplied by Advanced Hydroponic Systems Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Alquimi which fabricates its various customized production systems in Trinidad, with an emphasis on water and energy efficiency, while delivering maximum yields.
AGOL intends to supply high profile customers across the island's resort and restaurant sector, as well as providing access to high quality produce to Antigua's vibrant yachting sector. As the farm expands it will be able to supply the retail sector as well.
