"We see tremendous potential in vegetable exports to Hong Kong"

It's been a positive export season for Indian vegetables, despite having to deal with a couple of challenges, says Parth Ramani of Indian fresh produce exporter, Sanjog Enterprise: "This season has been encouraging for us. We primarily export fresh Indian vegetables such as okra, drumsticks, bitter gourd, green chilies, tindora, and leafy vegetables. Along with vegetables, we also export a wide range of seasonal fruits to meet the diverse demands of our international clients. Despite a few challenges, we've managed to maintain consistent quality and supply for our customers, which is always our top priority."

According to Ramani, irregular rains were a challenge, one that Sanjog's sourcing strategy mitigated. "Weather always plays a major role in fresh produce. This year, we faced a mix of favorable and challenging conditions. While some regions experienced irregular rains, our strong farmer network and sourcing strategy helped us ensure timely procurement without compromising freshness. Our major export destinations include Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. Recently, we've also started building a strong presence in Hong Kong and other Asian markets."

The recent exports to Hong Kong required hard work in order to meet the consumers' requirements, but Ramani sees lots of potential in the market of Hong Kong: "The main challenge for exporting to Hong Kong was meeting the strict quality standards and ensuring that the vegetables remained fresh during transit. Hong Kong buyers are highly particular about quality and timely delivery. We overcame this through careful selection, improved packaging, and efficient cold chain logistics to maintain freshness all the way from India to Hong Kong. We see tremendous potential in Hong Kong. It's a dynamic market with a strong demand for authentic Indian vegetables and fruits. With growing consumer preference for fresh and diverse produce, we believe our presence there will only strengthen in the coming years."
