The professional direction of grape cultivation in closed ground is most developed in the Odessa region of Ukraine, but in general, considering also amateurs, there is a boom in table grapes in greenhouses observed throughout the country, writes agronews.ua.
"This is already a social phenomenon," noted Olga Yulina, co-founder of the company "Yulina Vineyard." "I was surprised that a lot of planting material was ordered from Lviv. In general, the closed ground project can be implemented in any region of the country, as the climate in Ukraine has changed a lot in recent years, the number of warm days has increased, and grapes in a greenhouse ripen well anywhere."
Grapes as a self-pollinating crop in greenhouse conditions require good ventilation, especially for better pollination, says Yulina. Therefore, in her greenhouses, she made additional openings in the ceiling every 15-20 meters.
