On the European Commission's tomato dashboard, only loose round tomato prices in France and the Netherlands are marked in red, indicating they were lower than in July last year. For all other categories and countries, prices were higher compared to the same month in 2023.

Dutch market trends
In the Netherlands, vine tomatoes traded at around €0.75 per kilo in July. This is similar to last year's level but still 38% higher than the five-year average.

As usual, it's the cherry and specialty tomatoes that fetched the strongest prices. At €2.53 per kilo, the average was 73% above the five-year average.
