A Minsk greenhouse complex has raised its vegetable output by nearly 30%. It grows a variety of crops year-round, including tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and eggplants.
Eggplants now take up around 0.5 hectares of the greenhouse space, and introduced in 2022 as a small experiment, they now have a dedicated glasshouse.
Sergey Nekrashevich, CEO of the complex, stated that eggplant production increased sevenfold last year and is expected to rise by another 10% this year. Pepper production also grew sevenfold in the first half of the year.
Other crops like lettuce, cherry tomatoes, green onions, and spinach are also expanding. Cucumbers remain the main product, with over 40 tons harvested every week.
