Agtira acquires Swedish cucumber grower

Agtira has taken a major strategic step. Through the acquisition of Pepino AB, one of Sweden's most established and profitable cucumber growers, the company is strengthening its position as a leading player in Swedish greenhouse cultivation and making the leap from a growth company to a profitable group.

With this acquisition, Agtira becomes Sweden's largest producer of cucumbers, achieves profitability at the group level, and almost quadruples its greenhouse area to a total of 49,000 square meters. The deal also establishes a strong presence in southern Sweden and secures the conditions for continued expansion by an additional 20,000 square meters.

Pepino operates a proven, efficient, and sustainable business with strong customer relationships. Its CEO, Joakim Linneros, will now take on the role of Chief Operating Officer at Agtira, with responsibility for both the facility in Påarp and the company's total production.

At the same time, the board has appointed Fredrik Forssberg as the new CEO of Agtira, effective September 1. Current CEO Erik Jonuks will remain during the autumn to ensure a smooth handover and contribute to the integration process before moving on to a new position later in the year.
