Genap introduces Genatex 450 in the horticulture sector, a new film that is lighter than the current Genatex 920 but with comparable functional properties. This development has several implications for the fresh produce sector.
Installation and logistics
The Genatex 450 film provides advantages in installation and logistics. The reduced weight makes it easier and faster to install the film, which reduces physical strain during the work process. Less weight also means that transport can be executed more efficiently, with simplified handling and the potential to reduce transport costs.

Weather resistance
The temperature range of -30 °C to +70 °C ensures the film is resistant to both cold and heat. This prevents cold cracking at low temperatures and softening at higher temperatures, thus maintaining usability in various weather conditions.
Recyclability
With its fully recyclable composition, Genatex 450 distinguishes itself. Both the coating and the fabric are made from the same type of plastic, facilitating recycling as one unit. This approach contributes to a more circular material flow within the sector.
Application in water storage
Genap is now applying the Genatex 450 in the GenaDome cover for water storage. This application underscores the versatility and weather resistance of the material. Roger Vos, Horticulture Sales Manager at Genap, states that the combination of logistical, processing, and circular properties is a desired addition for customers within the sector.
This introduction of the Genatex 450 film offers high-tech greenhouse growers and suppliers the opportunity to adapt their operational processes to a lighter, efficiently transportable, and recyclable material.
