T-Bouwsystemen, a specialist in providing commercial spaces for the horticultural sector, has recently relocated from Monster to Maasdijk in the Netherlands. The new, larger site gives the company the space it needs to support its continued growth.
For years, the company has focused on delivering complete construction solutions for greenhouse projects, with a particular emphasis on the Venlo-style greenhouse structure. In recent years, T-Bouwsystemen has developed two patented innovations: the TB Gutter System and the T-Bouw Strip. Combined with insulated sandwich panels, these components form the TB-Hortiroof system.

Patented gutter system
"When we developed our new gutter system, we focused on two key aspects," explains owner Patrick Thiebou. "First, the system had to be watertight on the outside under all conditions. Second, it needed to prevent condensation from forming on the inside of the roof. After testing several versions extensively, our patented TB Gutter System was the result."
The system features a unique plastic core that serves as a thermal break, Patrick explains. "This effectively eliminates cold bridging and condensation issues. The plastic core is also an integral part of the structure, connecting the inner and outer sides of the gutter system. It creates a strong, durable connection that allows the aluminum profiles to expand and contract without causing deformation or leaks."
T-Bouw strip
In addition to the gutter system mentioned above, Patrick and his team also developed the T-Bouw Strip (T-Construction Strip). This patented plastic strip eliminates the need to seal joints with silicone.
"Applying sealant to every joint is not only time-consuming, but it also requires precision each and every time," Patrick explains. "If it's not applied correctly, you're left with a potential leak. By using our T-Bouw Strip, that problem is completely avoided."

Supported by calculations
As a specialist in constructing commercial spaces, the company places maximum emphasis on reliability and safety. "Together with our suppliers, we calculate everything down to the last detail," says Patrick. "Our systems are backed by structural calculations from an independent engineer. For each project, we can provide precise specifications for maximum loads, such as snow and wind pressure."
Smart engineering
The team at T-Bouwsystemen is equipped to take on projects of all sizes. "Thanks to smart engineering tools and strong logistical agreements with our suppliers, we're able to work efficiently," they explain. "This allows us to complete even large-scale projects with a relatively small team."
To fully finish the distinctive workspaces used by growers, T-Bouwsystemen also supplies doors, frames, and custom profiles. These are specially designed for installation in facades with sandwich panels. When we visit their location in Maasdijk, a truck is just pulling onto the lot, ready to pick up a load of frames. Its destination? A project all the way in Morocco.
Market developments
T-Bouwsystemen, which celebrated its 5th anniversary in April 2025, is optimistic about the future—despite the geopolitical tensions affecting the world today.
"In the Netherlands, we have a wealth of specialized knowledge in the horticultural sector," they explain. "We're constantly evolving to stay ahead of the curve. That puts us in a strong position to meet the growing demand for sustainable solutions, which are becoming increasingly vital—especially in global food production."
The team firmly believes that the role of greenhouses in securing the world's food supply will only become more important. And that, they say, gives them great confidence for the road ahead.
T-Construction Systems has developed its own TB-Hortiroof system over the past few years with the TB-Gutter System and the T-Construction Strip.
