Developing new bulk trolleys for custom harvest processing

Efficient harvest processing starts with reliable internal transport. When an existing solution is no longer available, that doesn't mean there's no alternative. This was the experience of Reijm & Zn., a grower of peppers and cucumbers, who needed a specific bulk trolley that was no longer being manufactured by the original supplier. As a loyal Metazet customer, they knew exactly where to turn.

From request to solution in 16 Weeks
With the introduction of an under-dumping system, a new logistical challenge arose: how to transport the harvested peppers to the shed as quickly and practically as possible? A bulk trolley turned out to be the ideal solution, but the required models were no longer available. The request to Metazet was clear: can you build these trolleys? The answer was simple: of course we can! With our extensive expertise in electric transport solutions, metalworking, and in-house assembly, we got started right away. The entire process—from design and technical drawings to production and delivery—was completed within just 16 weeks.

A tailored bulk trolley, designed for real-world use
The new bulk trolleys are 6 meters long and have a capacity of approximately 5 cubic meters. Based on the original models, Metazet implemented improvements using its own techniques, such as a lithium battery and a powerful AC motor. These upgrades ensure smooth and strong propulsion, making the trolleys seamlessly fit into the transport process.

These bulk trolleys can be scaled or adjusted in size and configuration based on the grower's needs. Every greenhouse operation has unique logistical requirements; we are always happy to collaborate on finding the best possible solution.

The new bulk trolleys for Reijm & Zn. are now fully operational. Jan Reijm was able to start harvesting peppers immediately and is enthusiastic about the speed and efficiency the new transport solution provides.

Previous custom solutions for Reijm & Zn.
This isn't the first time Metazet has delivered a custom solution for Jan Reijm. Recently, we delivered a special leaf removal container designed according to his specific wishes. This container includes fork pockets, allowing it to be easily picked up with a forklift. A unique design that perfectly matched Reijm's request.
