Moroccan tomato exports to Spain surge in early 2025

Moroccan fruit and vegetable exports to Spain surged in the first quarter of 2025, with recent data from Hortoinfo showing a 22% year-on-year increase in volume. Spain imported 188,076 tons of Moroccan produce, valued at €481 million.

Tomatoes led the growth, with volumes rising 34% and value jumping 57%, highlighting Morocco's growing competitiveness in the European market. In contrast, green bean exports declined, suggesting a potential shift in consumer demand or export strategy. This trend underscores Morocco's expanding role in global fruit supply chains and its adaptability to evolving market needs.
