At 4evergreen's location in Steenbergen, construction has recently begun on a new water reservoir. With a capacity of no less than 43 million liters, it will significantly increase the site's irrigation water storage.
This expansion is not a replacement of an existing basin, but an additional facility. "We want to ensure that we have enough clean irrigation water available, even during periods of drought," the 4evergreen management explains. "This way, we reduce our reliance on rainwater and other external water sources."
The construction of the reservoir marks an important step in 4evergreen's commitment to sustainable operations. By proactively investing in water storage, the company is preparing for the growing challenges surrounding water availability and quality in greenhouse horticulture.
