Tomato plants transplanted into mist system

After weeks of preparation and nurturing young plants, a new milestone has recently been reached in the trial with Saia Agrobotics' system at the Growers United Research Center at Proof: the plants have been transplanted into the misting system. The transplanting process was carried out in close collaboration with growers, Saia Agrobotics, and the team from HortiTech. In the coming period, the research will focus on plant growth under mist conditions.

According to Pim van Adrichem, the roots of the plants are already more developed than usual, as noted in the Growers United update (link in Dutch). Earlier this spring, Growers United and Saia Agrobotics signed an agreement to launch a practical pilot. If the test proves successful, a second phase will follow in 2026, involving a scaled-up cultivation process supported by a fully operational robotic system for leaf pruning and harvesting.
