Albania: Government helps grower with greenhouse expansion

Gëzim Beshi grows vegetables in greenhouses in Çermë e Sipërme, Lushnjë. He cultivates 20 dynym of land and produces high-quality crops mainly for export.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj, shared his example on social media. She presented him as a model followed by many farmers who help boost local agricultural production and rural economic growth.

"His activity directly supports the local agricultural economy," said Denaj. "It creates income and jobs in the area."

She added that, with support from the National Scheme, Gëzim plans to expand his activity and improve the quality of Made in Albania products. These products are gaining ground in both local and international markets.

Denaj also highlighted financing options. "Through the National Investment Scheme, farmers can receive 50% in grants. With Soft Loans combined with the Sovereign Guarantee, they can access financing with only 2% interest and up to 70% collateral coverage," she said.
