US (CA): CSUMB receives $500,000 for research from Chipotle

Casual fast food chain Chipotle Mexican Grill is giving $500,000 toward a new research greenhouse at Cal State Monterey Bay.

The research facility will have four separate greenhouses and a main headhouse for students and faculty to innovate, experiment, and collaborate within CSUMB's Agricultural Plant and Soil Science program.

"This support will enhance our hands-on experiential learning and research capacity, empowering students to drive innovation in sustainable farming and tackle real-world agricultural challenges," associate professor and AGPS coordinator J.P. Dundore-Arias said.

The donations are part of the casual fast food chain's investment in the future of farming by donating to agricultural and farm-based programs.
