Vietnam spent $2.4B on fruit and vegetable imports in 2024

Vietnam spent 2.4 billion USD on imported fruits and vegetables, mainly from China and the US last year, up 24% from the previous year, the General Department of Customs said.

The values of fruits and vegetables imported from China and the US were 1 billion USD and more than 540 million USD respectively.

Vietnam imported 150 million USD worth of fruits and vegetables from Australia and 138 million USD worth from Myanmar. Imports of agricultural products from China and the US increased sharply thanks to the tax incentives and reduced technical barriers of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the Vietnam-US bilateral trade agreement.
