Over six months, tomato imports to Kyrgyzstan have increased by 15%. According to data from the National Statistical Committee, Kyrgyzstan imported 18,268.9 tons of tomatoes worth $11,929,400 between January and June 2024. This represents a 15% increase compared to the same period last year when the import volume reached 17,876.1 tons, valued at $10,366,900.
Kyrgyzstan mainly imports tomatoes from five countries, with Turkmenistan being the leading supplier, accounting for 82% of all tomato imports to the country. Over the six months, Turkmenistan supplied 14,962.2 tons of tomatoes worth $8,798,300.
Uzbekistan follows with 2,484.4 tons imported, worth $2,089,500. Additionally, tomatoes were imported from China, Iran, and Kazakhstan.
