Large greenhouse complex set to be established in southern region of Kazakhstan

According to information from the state agency, a substantial greenhouse complex spanning 500 hectares will be constructed and commissioned in the Keles district. The total investment for this project amounts to 524 billion tenge (approximately 1.04 billion euros), with the Kazakhstan side leading the implementation with the support of a Russian company.

The initial stage of the project anticipates the commissioning of an area exceeding 51 hectares. A total of 42 billion tenge (approximately 83.66 million euros) is earmarked for the launch, and it is expected to be completed by August 2024. Upon the completion of the 500-hectare facility, more than 10,000 local residents may find employment opportunities. The complex's capacity is projected to yield 200,000 tons of tomatoes annually.

The greenhouse will be equipped with an automated climate control system, a management system for heating and cooling, a lighting system, and drip irrigation.
