A busy afternoon at an open day with little chance of talking with customers properly? There must be a different way the folks at Ulma Packaging and Arco Solutions thought. Over the last two weeks, these two Dutch companies organized joint demo days for the soft fruit and mushroom sector at Ulma's premises in the Netherlands.

"We reserved 90 minutes per client, so we could really have time for them. If you drive for three hours to get here, you deserve proper attention. Our customers greatly appreciated that," says Ulma Packaging's Alex Hofstee.
The companies jointly set up an extensive line of packaging machines and weighing equipment for packing soft fruit and mushrooms. "An ideal combination."
"Arco Solutions saw to the internal logistics systems like the crate input and removal, palletizing, and robotizing," Alex explains. "Along with our packaging machines, we presented a complete line."
Novelties included the Arco weighing line with automated giveaway reduction software. It automatically minimizes giveaways, saving between one and two percent of the product.
Visitors also got to see the Ulma Topseal line - which can seal up to 120 trays per minute - in combination with the ULMA Case packers. These are specially designed to place products efficiently and consistently into crates or boxes.
For Ulma Packaging, it was a good opportunity to show off its new location, where it has been for two years, too. "We'll definitely have open-door days again, but when is still a surprise," Alex concludes.
