Spanish fruit and vegetable exports outside Europe fell by 35%

According to the latest data updated by the Department of Customs and Excise, processed by FEPEX, Spain exported 169,735 tons of fresh fruits and vegetables worth 246.9 million euros to non-European countries up until July, i.e., 35% less volume and 17% less value than in the same period of 2022.

Spanish fruit and vegetable sales to its main non-European destinations fell; sales to Brazil stood at 19,985 tons (-9%), to Canada at 18,297 tons (-55%), and to the United States at 12,626 tons (-13%).

Thus, the non-European countries' share in Spain's total exports also decreased, accounting for only 2% of the total volume exported by Spain, compared to the 3% they achieved last year and the 4% achieved five years ago.
