NL: Kids festival Wageningen University & Research in Bleiswijk

On Saturday, October 7, Wageningen University & Research, Glasshouse Horticulture business unit in Bleiswijk, will open its doors to children and their parents. In cooperation with greenhouse companies, the Municipality of Lansingerland and Wageningen University & Research are organizing the Horti Science Kidz Festival that day. In an interactive way, children can learn about the world of innovative greenhouse horticulture. There will also be face painters, magicians, various artists, and food trucks with snacks and drinks.

During the Kidz Festival, for example, you can follow the journey of a sweet bell pepper: from tiny seed to full-grown bell pepper on the plate. With a punch card, children can do assignments at various stalls that have to do with the developmental stages of a sweet bell pepper. Bell pepper ice cream can also be tasted, and there are various taste tests. Most Horti Science companies and knowledge institutions from Lansingerland have set up a stall where children and their parents can learn all about the products from (greenhouse) horticulture.

The Horti Science Kidz Festival is organized during the Weekend of Science and has been made possible by a contribution from the European Union.

Wageningen University & Research, business unit Horticulture, can be visited by children and their parents on October 7 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Violierenweg 1 in Bleiswijk.
