A new greenhouse complex will be established on the Kamchatka Peninsula

A new greenhouse complex will be established on the Kamchatka Peninsula by the company "Greenhouses of the Regions," capable of producing 1.2 thousand tons of tomatoes and 1.6 thousand tons of cucumbers annually. This complex will be the fourth within the company and the first year-round facility on the peninsula. Construction began four years ago, with plans for an operational launch in late 2024.

"Greenhouses of the Regions" is a relatively new greenhouse holding that includes three complexes located in Komi, Perm Krai, and Chuvashia. These complexes cultivate vegetables with high yields in fifth-generation year-round greenhouses. This approach has enabled them to become almost monopolistic in their respective regions and successfully establish a niche in the market.

Currently, the selection of greenhouse-grown vegetables on the Kamchatka Peninsula is limited, predominantly comprising Chinese products. The new complex will cover around 80% of the region's vegetable demand, providing an alternative to imports. Previously, other investors had plans to build greenhouse complexes on the peninsula. But due to challenges related to the low population concentration, distribution difficulties, and equipment delivery, many of these projects were delayed.

"Greenhouses of the Regions" is owned by the investment fund Ream Management and specializes in high-tech greenhouse complexes for year-round vegetable cultivation. The complexes in various regions were constructed between 2019 and 2021, with a combined greenhouse area of 60 hectares. The "Kamchatka" complex will occupy 3.6 hectares.
