From August 23 to 25, AMHPAC’s annual protected horticulture convention will take place in Cancun, Mexico. In its 15th year, the organization takes the opportunity to celebrate this anniversary with all attendees and analyze the current situation of the fruit and vegetable industry, as well as the risks and opportunities that exist in the sector. The convention targets national and international leaders of the fruit and vegetable industry, including growers, government officials, supply chain representatives, researchers, and consultants. “We expect the presence of representatives from the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, Colombia, France, Chile, and Mexico,” says Karina Reyes with AMHPAC. From Mexico, growers from more than 20 states will be present.

Altogether, the organization expects more than 350 attendees who will analyze the business environment together and strengthen relationships among participating decision-makers. Subjects that will be addressed during the conference cycle include:
- Opportunities in the fruit and vegetable industry.
- Expectations of the Tomato Suspension Agreement (TSA).
- New retail strategies.
- Analysis of Mexico’s socio-political and economic environment.
- Experiences of the stakeholders in the fruit and vegetable sector to run a successful company.
- The value of sustainability in the sector.
- Artificial intelligence as a tool for the industry.

Last year, AMHPAC’s annual conference drew more than 350 participants to Puerto Vallarta. They consisted of more than 40 ag companies, nearly 60 suppliers of inputs and services, more than 20 marketers, as well as representatives of more than 10 allied organizations.
