Nurseries use basins to store the water they need to water their products. However, the problem with that water storage is that, especially in sunny weather, algae growth occurs in the basin, and the water is contaminated by amoebas, fungi, bacteria, and viruses.
Aqua Development & Solutions' new patented frequency technology is designed to eliminate this contamination completely without adding anything to the water.
Silent but deadly
With frequency technology, frequency waves above 20 kHz are activated in the water. Inaudible for humans and animals but disastrous for the biofilm that is the breeding ground for algae growth, bacteria, and viruses.
Aqua D&S has developed a special lightweight float that does its work in the basin. From the float, regulated frequency waves are moved via (four) transducers at a speed of 1435.6 meters per second. "A 20,000 m3 basin changes from a green sea of algae to a 100% crystal clear water basin within a month. The result is visibly clean water, with no unwanted inhabitants," says Rianne de Baar of Aqua Development & Solutions.
The frequencies generated by the float in the basins must be adjusted once by Aqua D&S. The cell walls of the bacteria in the water are not resistant to vibrations generated by the sound waves. Unlike chemical treatments of the water, for example, no recolonization occurs because both the breeding ground for bacteria and the adhesive layer are eliminated.
"The introduction of Aqua D&S Frequency Technology represents a huge breakthrough for growers in managing and cleaning their collected rainwater. They are relieved of an ongoing worry about water quality and the costs involved. The only requirement for a functioning purification system is a power supply comparable to that of one modest light bulb," says Rianne.
The purification method is released by Aqua D&S exclusively on the Dutch market. Aqua D&S has developed the float for large water basins, especially for greenhouse horticulture.
