Westland solar panels forced to be under-utilized

"Between 12 and 16 hours, part of the solar panels are disconnected," says director Marco Vijverberg of Euro West, a company at ABC whose activities include refrigerating and packing fruit and vegetables, in the Algemeen Dagblad. The newspaper did a survey in Westland following the news that the electricity grid is full.

Whereas private individuals earn money by supplying power to the grid, Westland companies are fined when there is a relatively low demand for electricity, the newspaper found. This is why companies are disconnecting some of their panels. Read the whole item in the newspaper here (€) (NL).
