Ayhan Ay, a woman entrepreneur living in the village of Alakamis in Sirnak's Idil district, sold the bracelets on her arm to build a greenhouse. Additionally, she also received a grant from the state to build her greenhouse. Ayhan Ay, who lives in the village of Alakamis in the Idil district of Sirnak, wanted to make use of the empty land next to her house. Dreaming of building a greenhouse, Ay first sold the bracelets on her arm. She built the greenhouse she dreamed of by receiving 70% grant support within the framework of the greenhouse development project in Idil villages of the agriculture directorate within the local administration. Ayhan Ay, who got yield from the greenhouse for 3 periods a year, re-purchased the gold she sold while building the greenhouse. Ay said, "I built the greenhouse 2 years ago. The state gave me 70% support in funding. I built my greenhouse, and I get good yields. I have planted beans, tomatoes, and cucumbers for 2 years. I sold my gold, and now I got it back again. We are getting a good yield. I am working to support my family in this greenhouse. Thanks to the revenue I generate from my greenhouse, I get my children educated, and I support my house."
Stating that they provide grant support to women farmers, Idil District Agriculture and Forestry Director Osman Alci said, "We established this greenhouse with a 70% grant from the GAP administration to grow products with high added value, especially for our woman farmers. We have funded 8 greenhouses like this one throughout the whole city. To expand this, we are trying to support our farmers in both greenhouse and open-field vegetable production. If we have farmers who want to be involved in this activity, they can apply to the agriculture directorates. We have 70% support grants from the GAP rural development region and 50% from the Ministry of Agriculture."
