Australian consumers incredulous about cost of strawberries at Coles

Frustrated shoppers have blasted Coles online after noticing a steep increase in the price of strawberries. Supermarket giants Coles and Woolworths confirmed supply chain disruptions had resulted in strawberry prices being higher than usual.

The price hike is most notable among the "premium" variety, with Coles selling a 350g punnet for $10.90 compared to $6.50 for a standard 250g punnet. Strawberries appear to be out of stock on the Woolworths website. However, 250g punnets are being sold for $7.25 on its Milkrun powered by Metro app.
