"Horticulture is a very interesting industry, but the older generation of growers in China lack brand awareness and perfect chain management, resulting in weak profits and difficult long-term development", says Liu Yunze, who first worked in the financial industry and later found the ACME strawberry brand, that has been bringing remarkable berries to the market.
"What we want to do is not only to provide high-quality strawberries, but also build brand awareness, and increase the income of fruit farmers. I hope that through my own efforts, I can promote the sound development of the strawberry industry."

Strawberry is popular among the public because of its high nutrition. Chinese strawberry varieties are mainly imported from abroad, and there are few independent brands. "At present, the strawberry varieties cultivated in China mainly include Hongyan, Zhangji, Toyoka, Tochiotome, Yayoi Hime and other Japanese ones, Sweet Charlie, Camarosa, Strawberry Prince, and Honeye from America and Europe's Dukla, Tudela, Anna, and Gorrera", says Liu.
"Strawberry varieties independently cultivated in China include Hongxiu Tianxiang, Xiaobai Strawberry, and Hongshimei. Japanese strawberries like Hongyan and Zhangji have a good appearance, high sugar content, and good flavor. They are the main varieties of fresh strawberries in recent years."
"The strawberry industry in Japan is very developed. I went to Japan to investigate and study for half a year and saw a lot of gaps in the industry", says Liu. "ACME is a brand created by my friends and me. Our base is located in Jinan, Shandong, and we implement self-management. With the upgrading of the processing workshop, the production capacity will also be improved.'
"We also cooperate with Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University on new strawberry varieties. The Academy of Agricultural Sciences comes here from time to time to carry out strawberry hybridization and selection, and the excellent new varieties selected will help to better serve the market. At present, our colorful strawberries have been certified by Global.GAP and China.GAP and quality is guaranteed."
"China's agriculture needs fresh blood to join in. Only by working together can we drive the development of the industry," Liu said with a smile at the end of the talk.
