New Way Projects new name on market

"We started from scratch in terms of name, but certainly not in terms of experience"

Mario Storm and Mitchel Lelieveld have embarked on a new path together. For almost a year now, these two familiar faces from the horticultural sector have officially been working with New Way Projects, a Westland (greenhouse) construction company.

In 's-Gravenzande, the Netherlands, the men combine their experience in project supervision and technical drawing, but unlike before, they now also tackle complete projects together. A glance at the company's website shows that the men are already well underway.

Mario and Mitchel

"We have done quite a few projects already in these challenging times," says Mario. He has a long horticultural career which goes back to the 1980s. He worked in greenhouse construction, had his own construction company, and today runs his own consulting firm.

Mitchel has not been around in the industry as long as Mario, but he too has gained a lot of experience in the field, both in paid employment and with his own company, specializing in 2- and 3-D drawing and project supervision. Mitchel: "We started from scratch in terms of name, but certainly not in terms of experience."

Working with greenhouse construction equipment
It started 1.5 years ago when Mario called Mitchel and last Spring, they revealed their company' name and logo. And website followed. "It's handy when you introduce yourself somewhere," Mitchel says.

The new company focuses specifically on smaller, special projects. "We can deal with any part of the greenhouse construction system," Mario points out. New Way Projects works with greenhouse construction products and profiles. Mario lists canopies for schools and care farms and extensions of garden centers, among others. "We can turn that into a luxury product and provide customized solutions."

Draw yourself, deliver quickly
Not that this means all New Way Projects' projects necessarily consist of beautifully powder-coated facades, as already delivered by the company for garden centers at home and abroad. On the contrary, "We see that, especially in these times, there is a need for (re)construction in all shapes and sizes," Mitchel notes. One reason for this is that the existing area of horticulture under glass is changing considerably after these 3 crisis years.

This regularly involves connecting a greenhouse or extending a barn, but relatively minor interventions also come into play. "For the customer and/or subcontractor, we can quote, engineer, supervise the entire construction, and ensure that the right equipment and builders are in place. Because we can draw everything ourselves in 3D and have the right contacts at the suppliers, we are not dependent on anyone and can start and/or switch quickly."

Special projects
In their previous roles, the men have been involved in both new-build and remodeling projects, but through New Way Projects, they now also handle supply. "The special projects sometimes take as much preparation as building very large areas, so such projects are not for everyone. We now have everything in-house."

The list of finished projects gives an idea of what is possible. These may include garden centers and special construction, but New Way Projects has also already realized CHP and boiler rooms. "In doing so, we also arranged nitrogen permits for the grower, for example," Mario points out. The men also do not shy away from construction work, such as building platforms or floors in growers' sheds. With special programs for 2-D and 3-D drawing, a lot is possible, both nationally and internationally. New Way Projects is currently working on a project in Czech Republic, for instance.

The range of projects broad and by the time, Mario and Mitchel hope to add another person to the team this year as the company continues to grow. "Deep in our hearts, we actually like to build something special for social care farms or garden centers," Mario concludes.
