Semillas Fitó will showcase them in the latest TomatoXperience edition from March 7 to 9

ToBRFV-resistant cherry pear and bouquet tomato varieties

The Tomato Brown Rugose Virus (ToBRFV) is one of the main challenges that the tomato-producing sector has been facing in recent years. Since its appearance in 2015, Semillas Fitó has been working to offer tomato varieties resistant to the virus to the sector. Currently, the company already has different tomato varieties with resistances in various typologies.

Varieties with intermediate resistance to ToBRFV
"Semillas Fitó has four cherry pear commercial varieties that have intermediate resistance (IR) to ToBRFV, such as Solemio, Mulan, Ferdinand, and Essentia. The company also has a variety of bouquet tomatoes, such as Alcazaba, that also have IR to the ToBRFV," the company stated.

"Solemio and Mulan are two cherry pear varieties that have the distinctive Flavourite flavor, so we are talking about two premium quality tomatoes. Their plants are vigorous and curdle easily. They are suitable for the different spring and autumn cycles. In addition to having a differentiated quality, they offer very good yields and excellent post-harvest."

"Ferdinand is a cherry-pear tomato variety with good flavor. It stands out for its speed and productivity, especially in short cycles. It allows producers to enter the flavor markets, ensuring high yields in a short time. Finally, Essentia is a heart-shaped, crisp, deep red cherry tomato that draws attention for its sweet and tasty flavor."

"Alcazaba is a vine tomato with a medium-high vigor plant and very good plant health throughout the cycle, and it yields medium-sized fruits with an intense red color and an early entry into production. Alcazaba is an ideal tomato for organic producers or M-caliber programs with high production, precocity, good post-harvest, and absence of micro-cracking."

A new edition of the TomatoXperience from March 7 to 9
Semillas Fitó will be showcasing all these ToBRFV-resistant cherry tomato varieties, its extensive catalog of tomato varieties, and its latest innovations -such as the MaGneto pear tomato and Faladi for beef tomato-at the 4th edition of TomatoXperience, which this year will be on March 7, 8, and 9 in Almeria.

This edition has the same slogan as last year's edition: "Long live that traditional and special flavor," which includes the four different tomato categories that Semillas Fitó offers: long-lasting, flavor, traditional, and the brands that are part of Foodture.
