"Our Fruscan S7 sorting technology helps customers better set their own product standards"

January to May is the peak season for apple harvesting and processing in South Africa. Recently, the major apple exporters in South Africa have been busy with the new production season. But it's not just apple processors. Reemoon, a research and development manufacturer of fruit sorting machines, has received many inquiries from new customers. While helping new customers with installation, the after-sales team is also busy providing timely after-sales services to more than 60 customers in South Africa.

Frank is the head of Reemoon's South African subsidiary. "Recently, in Ametis, the Smit family farm located in the eastern Free State of South Africa, has had the apple sorting equipment, equipped with Reemoon's latest Fruscan visual system, running at full capacity," Frank said. "This is a set of apple cleaning and sorting lines, with functions including fruit loading, cleaning, air-drying, sorting and packaging. Among them, sorting has the functions of weight, size, color, and defect identification.

According to Frank, a major feature of the equipment is that it adopts the latest Fruscan S7 visual inspection system of Reemoon. "We can separately collect and model different defects of apples, and the detection function and accuracy have been improved, and the latest visual detection software system has the function of in-depth self-learning. With the accumulation of sorting volume, the system will have a more and more excellent performance," Frank said.

"The Fruscan S7 visual inspection system can accurately remove defective fruit and achieve real high-quality fruit at a good price. This is also one of the biggest advantages of Reemoon's equipment compared to similar products on the market. At present, this technology is very mature - apart from South Africa, Fruscan S7 has been put into use in China, Australia, Egypt, India and South American markets."

"Before using Reemoon's equipment, the weight sorting line used by this apple exporter could only manually distinguish the defects on the surface of the peel. Manual sorting is not only unstable in accuracy, but also low in work efficiency. With our equipment, not only the exporter saves manpower, the equipment operates quickly and effectively, and the sorting capacity is greatly improved."

After being put into operation, this apple packaging factory is very satisfied with the sorting function and quality of the equipment. Smit, from the farm, said, "The sorting equipment of Reemoon can perform optical sorting on apples, which has helped us greatly reduce the production pressure. With the FruscanS7 sorting system, the production line runs very stably. We can hand over the sorting work to this equipment and focus on other activities."

Smit added, "Using this equipment has improved the quality of our products. The humidity in the production area this summer has been very high, which has impacted the fruit's quality. We have found fungal spots on the peel through visual inspection software. Not only that, but the infrared camera on the Fruscan can detect problems under the peel that cannot be seen by the naked eye. Even the darker Royal Beaut and Suprma Fuji varieties can be detected by infrared cameras."

In Smit's view, the improvement of sorting accuracy will help improve product competitiveness. "The equipment avoids errors caused by manual sorting and can ensure that the products we sell to the market are consistent and stable. We let customers know that the specifications we print on the packaging are the actual numbers."

Reemoon South Africa subsidiary was established in 2017. The company is located in Tzaneen, Limpopo, and has an after-sales team, offices and warehouses in the Western Cape. "South Africa is a country with a very mature fruit sorting industry. Most of the farms or exporters have long-term experience in using sorting equipment, so it is difficult for a new brand and product to enter the local market. But since we entered the South African market, we have attracted customers with high-quality products and excellent after-sales service, and maintained close communication with customers, constantly absorbing feedback from customers and optimizing our products. In addition, we are also constantly improving our product line to provide customers with a complete automatic fruit cleaning, sorting and packaging production line. "Frank said, "At present, we have more than 60 total customers in South Africa, and our services radiate to neighboring countries such as Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Namibia and Kenya. "

Founded in 2001, China Reemoon is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the research, development and manufacture of post-harvest sorting equipment for fruits and vegetables. It is committed to applying artificial intelligence and big data technology in the field of post-harvest equipment to provide customers with one-stop solutions. Reemoon has successively established intelligent equipment research institutes for post-harvest, orchard automation, and production of fruits and vegetables, as well as a national citrus preservation technology research institute, dedicated to the corporate mission of "properly sorting fruits and vegetables for the world and sharing good results with the world" to meet the needs of different customers.
