German grower Wittenberg Gemüse has been voted 'company of the year' locally. The grower, with strong ties to the Netherlands, was praised in Saxony-Anhalt for its sustainability efforts. Growers of tomatoes, strawberries, and peppers use industrial residual heat from a nearby nitrogen plant, as well as CO2.
