The average price stood at €1.57/kg

Spain achieved the highest pepper export value in its history in this campaign

Last season, Spanish pepper exports achieved their highest export value ever.

Spain exported 865.6 million kilos of pepper in the 2021/2022 campaign for a record 1,363.15 million euros and an average price of €1.57/kg.

Germany was the country that acquired the most Spanish pepper last year. It purchased 276.46 million kilos for 453.24 million euros, at an average price of €1.64/kg, the highest price among the five largest importers of Spanish pepper.

France was the second-biggest buyer of Spanish peppers, with a total of 119.57 million kilos, 185.78 million euros, and an average price of €1.55/kg.

The UK ranked third with 118.73 million kilos, 191.95 million euros, and an average price of €1.62/kg.

Together, these three destinations accounted for 59.47% of all Spanish pepper foreign sales, equivalent to 514.76 million kilos.

The Netherlands ranked fourth with 84.17 million kilos of Spanish tomatoes worth 120.75 million euros and an average price of €1.43/kg.

Italy ranked fifth with 56.55 million kilos, 64.34 million euros, and an average price of €1.14/kg.
