Frequent extreme weather, increasing scarcity of natural resources, labor shortages, and rising energy costs all pose challenges to contemporary farming practices. The anti-risk ability of modern horticulture increases, and the scale and intensification help to improve the efficiency of management and operation, but its high investment and operation cost have always been a major topic of debate. At the 20th China Greenhouse Industry Conference and 2022 Annual China Greenhouse Horticultural Industry Conference (referred to as "China Greenhouse 2022") hosted by Huake Resources from September 19th to 22nd, experts discussed and answered these questions. With the theme of "Sharing and Creating the Future," the conference linked Yunnan's modern agricultural industry through an "online + offline" approach and integrate "greenhouse design and application," "greenhouse efficient cultivation and management," "release of new varieties," "visit typical park project" is integrated, and the agricultural industry is improved in various ways such as industrial thinking, commercial thinking, and technological thinking, and the future path of the industry is explored in an all-round, multi-angle and diversified way.
The forum report is one of the important sections of the conference. At the forum, there was an industrial development forum, academic forum, factory-based agriculture forum, achievement exchange meeting of facility agriculture in the "13th Five-Year" national key research and development plan, Dutch facility horticultural technology forum, application exploration forum, and Innovation and Development Forum. More than 50 reports led the new journey of modern agriculture, focusing on hot topics and industry pain points such as new models, new technologies, new achievements, cross-border integration, and social responsibility. Li Tianlai, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Wang Jihua, president of the Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, made wonderful keynote speeches.

China has a vast territory, diverse climate, and geographical environment, and its agricultural development has its own characteristics and local conditions. While actively introducing advanced foreign technology, localized equipment and technology are also constantly innovating. At the meeting, experts from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences also shared the domestic exploration and practice of large-scale glass greenhouses with low energy consumption and the innovation and application of efficient production technology for large-scale multi-span glass greenhouses. Experts from a number of agricultural science colleges in China also shared the latest research on fruit and vegetable cultivation techniques.
Robert Keijzer, General Manager of KUBO China, explains the semi-enclosed greenhouse
From the typical solar greenhouse in northern China, the traditional Venlo greenhouse in the Netherlands, and the latest semi-enclosed greenhouse, a lot of sharing was carried out at the meeting, and the corresponding supporting equipment was discussed. Companies in the fields of water and fertilizer management, substrates, and pest management from the Netherlands, Israel, Germany, and Chinese have different innovations.
In addition to the report forum, the venue also set up a new product and technology exhibition area, focusing on the fields such as greenhouse engineering, greenhouse equipment, irrigation systems, horticultural materials, seeds, and seedlings so that participants can personally experience new technologies and new products, helping the sustainable development of the industry and commercial transformation.
Participants visited and discussed in front of the product display area and communicated. The rare offline communication made everyone full of passion.
This conference was chosen to be held in Kunming, Yunnan. Yunnan is rich in natural resources and has unique climatic conditions. It is the most important fresh cut-flower producing area in China. During the conference, activities such as the launch and promotion of new products of flowers from Yunnan and the visits to typical projects in Yunnan (Kunming) were also held to further promote the construction of the industry in Yunnan so that participants could have a deep understanding of the modern facility cultivation mode of Yunnan's characteristic industries.
