Hydroponic Systems launches HS Evolution Pot

New solution for strawberry growing in pots with customized substrate

The Murcian company Hydroponic Systems has launched the HS Evolution Pot, its new solution to grow strawberries in pots with customized substrate and on an elevated metal gutter.

"It is a system that facilitates caring for the environment and savings for producers. By allowing the use of customized substrate inside the pot, it does not require plastic bags to contain it, thus avoiding the use of plastics and the costs of their acquisition and removal."

"The economic savings go even further, since the HS Evolution Pot is designed to last for several growing cycles. It only requires simple and easy cleaning and disinfection between each of them. The profitability is also enhanced, as the narrow gutter allows for more rows to be placed, or to have a zigzag arrangement of plants to maximize efficiency in the use of the growing area. Also, growers can choose the substrate they want the strawberry to grow in, so they get greater flexibility."

These particular advantages of the HS Evolution Pot add to those of Hydroponic Systems' portfolio of solutions:

  • Extra aeration and oxygenation for the roots.
  • Does not produce puddles
  • Prevents contact between roots and drains
  • They can be placed on suspended or raised supports in the greenhouse
  • Response to a given demand

"In 2014, Hydroponic Systems was born to respond to the needs of producers and help them deal with some of their biggest problems, such as root diseases that cause plants to rot and infect others. So, to avoid this, the Murcian company devised a range of solutions that has been exported to almost forty countries with great success".

It should be noted that independent research led by Ceickor Centro Universitario (Mexico) shows that the use of these systems can help increase overall greenhouse production by between 3% and 5%.
