New harvest, new owners for Belgian organic grower

Since the beginning of this year, Lawrence Van den Bosch is, together with his brother Alexander Van den Bosch, the owner of horticultural company Barver. On Allesoverbio.be, Lawrence explains what drove him to take over the organic company. "Both my grandparents and parents worked in greenhouse cultivation. My parents had their own tomato and aubergine company. I was faced with a choice: either expand my parents' business or take the step towards organic cultivation. When I met Peter Bartels and he told me that he was thinking of selling his company, I was immediately enthusiastic."

Peter started the company with Riet in 1983. In an interview with Bio Mijn Natuur last year, he already mentioned that the grower was looking for a successor.

Peter remains an important force within the company, which remains a member of growers' cooperative BelOrta. Read the whole story on Allesoverbio (NL).
