Devon McDonald's still faced with tomato shortage

In South West England, a McDonald's branch in Newton Abbot has warned customers they have run out of tomatoes. Signs have been spotted around the drive-through, advising diners that some of the fast food chains burgers will have to be served with only one slice of tomato rather than two.

The sign says: "We're currently experiencing a shortage in our supply of tomatoes. Consequently the Big Tasty and the Big Tasty with Bacon are being served with one slice of tomato rather than two."

However Newton Abbot is not the only store affected by the shortage; other branches across the country have also been forced to ration the ingredient.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “We are currently experiencing a shortage in our supply of tomatoes. As a result, the Big Tasty and the Big Tasty with Bacon are being served with one slice of tomato rather than two. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank our customers for their patience."
