The relationship between the Italian Cooperativa Agricola Cesenate (CAC) and the Italian branch of the Danish seed company DLF Beet Seed, which is active in more than 100 countries around the world, is now getting even stronger. A few days ago, DLF inaugurated its operational headquarters in Cesena, Italy, in the production and management area of the CAC (Cooperativa Agricola Cesenate), which has provided the offices on a free loan basis.
"The company grows around 450 hectares of sugar beet seed for DLF, a region particularly suitable for this type of crop. We have entered into a long-term relationship with DLF of which we are particularly proud. Over time, the cooperation has evolved from single to long-term seed multiplication contracts. Today we are taking another step that will make our relationship even stronger,” explained the CAC president Giovanni Piersanti.
DLF is one of the main customers of the Cesena-based cooperative, especially as regards sugar beet growing. The opening of the Cesena space, which joins the Bologna registered office, consolidates a synergy that now covers all aspects of seed production and selection, from technical advice in the field to relations with farmers.
Piersanti and Ceccacci
The opening ceremony was attended by Massimo Casci Ceccacci, head of DLF Beet Seed Italia, and CAC president Giovanni Piersanti.
"Cesena is a very important base for DLF," said the manager of DLF Italy. "The CAC member growers are professional and have a lot of experience. They can also count on the help of technicians from the cooperative and have all the equipment they need to achieve their goals. Founded in 2017, DLF Italy has been operating as Maribo-Hilleshog for more than 60 years and has been working with CAC for more than 30 years. With the opening of the new office, even more synergies will be created between the two companies."
