On 28 February 1990 Cock van der Voort started in his garage at home in Naaldwijk. He decided to apply his technical knowledge and years of experience in a business of his own. Despite having three children and the security of a permanent job, he decided to go for it and founded SchermNed. Through trial and error, it became a great success.
Now, 32 years later, SchermNed is known as a reliable family business in screen installations and insect mesh, both in the Netherlands and worldwide. Although work is no longer done from home (even though working from home is the new 1990), it is still done from Naaldwijk.
Now the next generation of Van der Voortjes is at the helm together with a great team and sister company Vitrona. The same values are still used as before: short lines of communication, high product and market knowledge aimed at honest and pleasant cooperation and always going for the highest quality.
