Comprehensive services in the field of logistics, from packaging to picking and packing to storage: this has been the core competence of the Hamburg-based service company Temra Ltd for 15 years. Due to the difficult framework conditions in today's fruit logistics, flexibly capacities are more important and thus more in demand than ever, says Orhan Güler, operations manager at Temra.
"With our personnel services, we specialize in all types of warehouse activities. Our perfectly coordinated teams of up to 250 employees perform all activities carefully, efficiently and in strict compliance with quality assurance, thanks to guidance from our own foremen and shift supervisors. Among other things, we step in when there is a need for short-term support for all warehouse work or to relieve the strain on someone's capacities," Güler explains.
Packaging is one of the core competencies of Temra, along with picking, packing and storage.
Order-oriented and series-oriented picking
The fruit sector accounts for around 90 percent of orders, not least because of the company's proximity to the local wholesale market and the port, where tons of fruit, vegetables, nuts and dried fruit are handled every day. Güler: "We offer fruit traders experienced support staff - for both order-oriented and series-oriented picking. The speedy preparation and compilation of the goods and products to be marketed and the associated quality assurance play a crucial role."
In addition, the company relies on competent and careful handling of packaging. "The assembly of individual components into units ready for shipment is handled efficiently and according to specifications. Our operators are proficient in all the steps to be carried out by hand, all of which are subject to our quality inspection. When it comes to packaging, our highly motivated employees are competent and efficient in the professional sorting, packing, repacking, and filling of fresh food," Güler adds.
