Azerbaijan sets new stipulations for Turkish vegetable imports

Azerbaijan has introduced new regulations for the import of pepper, tomatoes and eggplants from Turkey. Azerbaijani experts see no reason this would complicate the relations between the two countries. Azerbaijan has returned a batch of 64 tons of imported fresh pepper to Turkey, because dangerous pests were found in vegetables.

Economic observer Ali Ahmedov stated that some countries prohibit the import of goods from certain countries for political reasons. Russia often does this, the expert notes. However, he said: “I don’t see any politics here, because relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan are currently at a very high level.”
