Frischkeim Naturkost Ltd might close down

Germany: Organic sprout producer from the Rhineland ceases operations

According to a company statement, Frischkeim Naturkost Ltd has had to cease operations at the end of the year. This means that the organic sprout producer based in Hückeswagen -in the Rhineland- will probably disappear from the industry after more than 35 years. Management does not want to confirm or explain the ongoing insolvency proceedings.

Founded in 1985, the company was primarily dedicated to the cultivation and distribution of organic sprouts. As a specialized company, Frischkeim developed into a reliable partner of the nationwide gastronomy and natural food trade.

Due to the EHEC affair in 2011, the company was already under pressure. However, after a short-lived decline in orders, the company was able to continue operating at its usual levels.
