Black tomatoes introduced to German market

SanLucar is launching a new tomato variety on the German market: The SanLucar Blacky tomatoes, which are already popular among gourmets.

The new Blacky tomatoes from SanLucar grow in the coastal region of Andalusia, in southern Spain. "There, climate and soil are ideal for the fruits, which are irrigated with saltwater from the coastal region of Almería. The perfect combination of mineral-rich and saline water together with the soil that has been specially selected for the cultivation, creates the unique taste of Blacky tomatoes. This taste is characterized by a high Brix value, from which the tomatoes get their sweetness", the SanLucar team shares.

Large calibers are loosely packed in a 3 kg box. Alternatively, the product is offered in a 400-gram cardboard tray with an additional "flowpack" that protects the tomatoes and maintains the aroma. 

SanLucar Blacky tomatoes are available from late November to mid-May. SanLucar is accompanying the product launch with promotional materials and attractive secondary displays at the POS.
