The Supervisory Board of the foundation RHP has decided to appoint Raymond Hedges as the new director of RHP as of February 1st, 2022. Hedges succeeds Hein Boon, who has been committed to Responsibly Produced Peat since the new year.
Raymond Hedges has held various positions in his career in different sectors including marketing, education, and most recently horticulture. In recent years he was director of the growers’ association Decorum.
Hedges about his new position: “I look forward to contributing as director of RHP to the further development of the knowledge center for growing media, the RAG quality mark in the Netherlands and the RHP quality mark in Europe. The transition to renewable and circular raw materials makes quality and safety even more important.”
The Supervisory Board is convinced that Hedges’ experience and the background will enable him to further expand the distinctive role that RHP plays in the field of plant safety and quality assurance of raw materials and growing media in Europe. In addition, the Supervisory Board thanks Hein Boon for the major contribution he has made to the
development of RHP over the past 19 years.
