As of 1 January 2022, Prominent will acquire a stake in Lepelstraat-based tomato grower P.N. Hoogerbrugge Steenbergen. The company will continue to operate under the name Prominent Hoogerbrugge.
Hoogerbrugge grows loose tomatoes on 14.5 hectares and has been a member of Telersvereniging Prominent for a year now. This step was chosen because it strengthens Hoogerbrugge's position and thanks to the participation, this grower can continue to invest in the future and grow tomatoes of the very best quality. "For Prominent, this stake acquisition means that they become a co-shareholder of Hoogerbrugge and are assured of the supply of top quality loose tomatoes during the season. This product is a welcome addition to our range. Together, we can further develop the company," says Jack Groenewegen, chairman of Prominent. Erik Hoogerbrugge, for his part, says that he is very pleased with this stake acquisition and the membership of Prominent.
