Cambodia still faces shortages of safe vegetables

Cambodia’s Minister of Agriculture has stated that the shortage of safe vegetable supply remains a challenge for the local markets. Minister Veng Sakhon made this remark during the inauguration ceremony of the Vegetable Safety Center and the establishment of partnership to promote safe vegetable supply chains in line with Cambodia Good Agricultural Practices (CamGAP) standards.

The Minister said that the government will continue to support, encourage and cooperate with all private companies wishing to invest in horticulture and strengthen the value chain of safe vegetable crops to promote production. The establishment of the Vegetable Safety Centre and partnerships will promote the safe vegetable supply chain in accordance with CamGAP standards and contribute to the development of the horticulture sector.
