2JV Emballage

“We are working on the packaging of the future”

2JV Emballage is based in the north of France, not far from Douai. This young company created in 2016 offers a complete range of packaging for the agri-food sector, from fruit and vegetables to meat, poultry, and fish. At first, the company revolved around endive packaging (boxes, trays, bags), but it has progressively widened its offer to all types of fruit and vegetables: carrots, lamb’s lettuce, stews, red fruits, and strawberries, among others. The company has also been adapting to the demand from its clients by personalizing the visual aspect and format of the packaging, as such highlighting the products of its clients in a constantly evolving market.

"Focused on developing environmentally-friendly solutions, we always strive to innovate. As the fruit and vegetable sector is getting ready for the implementation of the AGEC law from January 1st 2022, we will reinforce and extend our eco-responsible range of products," the 2JV Emballage team states.

Developing the cardboard range
The company wants to further develop its range of cardboard boxes (bottom+lid with or without window) and trays. “Depending on the products, we offer packaging of various qualities. We study the standardization of formats for a better adaptation of the packaging of overpacks (cardboard trays, wooden crates, IFCO crates),” according to 2JV Emballage.

In order to ensure that the fresh produce arrives at the final consumers with the same qualities as when it was shipped, the company relies on consequent grammages (thickness of paper). "Fruits and vegetables are wet products, so we are forced to adapt the quality of our packaging.” 2JV highly value the follow-up of its clients: “These are not just names we collaborate with, these are stories, people, and we grow together.” From the manufacturing of the products to the delivery to the client, each step is followed personally.

In search of the most adapted solution to respect the environment
In addition to cardboard packaging, the company is currently conducting research to develop solutions with its partner JANUSAC. “We want to find the packaging of the future that will respect environmental norms and guarantee freshness and preservation of the products. The combination of these paper flowpack solutions with our trays would allow us to obtain a 100% biodegradable packaging.”

“The advantage of a society like ours is that we have direct feedback from the producers. We carry out the tests with them, to see, for example, how well the product holds in the fridge. It is also thanks to them that our projects can progress quickly.”

In order to conform with the upcoming law, 2JV wants to anticipate the packaging revolution and offer adapted solutions to the sector. Thanks to its commercial team, the company is able to propose its packaging all over France.
