One of Turkey's main vegetable production centers is in the Aksu district of Antalya. The producers have started working on their lands again after having left it alone for months.
Now, producers started planting seedlings for the new season. Agricultural Engineer Saide Karatas, who produces in Kundu District, said that they will harvest the cocktail tomatoes she planted on an area of 3.5 da in 3 months. Referring to the fact that the harvest times of the crops change according to the climatic and maintenance conditions, Saide Karatas said, "There are a considerable amount of tomato greenhouses in Aksu. We have 40,000 da of greenhouses in which we produce offseason greenhouse vegetables. We have tomato and pepper crops that we export in a volume of 500-600,000 tons. Tomatoes are exported for 0.4 USD/kg."
