Klasmann-Deilmann cooperates with Méditourbe

New production site in France officially opened

The new production facility in Saint Louis du Rhone in France has already been running for a good year. On behalf of the Klasmann-Deilmann Group, the French company Méditourbe here produces growing media and potting soils. The site has now been officially opened in a ceremony attended by 160 guests. Customers and sales partners were given a comprehensive insight into the new substrate factory.

Since the foundation of the sales company Klasmann-Deilmann France in 1980, potting soils and growing media have been produced in Germany and transported to the South of France by ship, train, or truck. From now on, growing media from Klasmann-Deilmann are also available “made in France”. Production now takes place where the customers are with their nurseries.

Moritz Böcking, Managing Director of the Klasmann-Deilmann Group, explained: “We have been producing growing media and potting soils of the usual high quality here for a year now. Our customers are already very grateful for this. Thanks to the proximity to their nurseries, we are more flexible, have significantly shorter distribution channels, and can respond more quickly to their wishes - advantages that will continue to strengthen our close relationships in the long term.”

For Méditourbe, President Christophe Richardot welcomed the guests. “I am very pleased that we were able to realize the project at this location. It is important to be close to customers and to be able to supply them quickly with the products they want. And that is exactly what we are making possible with this location.” Benoit Planques, Managing Director of the French Association for Growing Media and Fertilizers AFAIA, also emphasized in his speech how important this site is for the optimum and rapid supply of nurseries, particularly in southern France.

Moritz Böcking thanked the suppliers and service providers as well as the team of the Dijon Céréales cooperative group. “My personal thanks go to the team at Méditourbe, our new production partner. We are launching something new here, and this requires strong and reliable partners. It is very fortunate that Méditourbe is that partner. In a special way, I would like to thank our customers and partners who have actively accompanied the process in the first year. Without you and your loyalty, it would not have been possible.”
