Project growing tomatoes in the Big Apple nominated for award

For a whole year, cherry tomatoes have been grown in a Dutch high-tech production unit in the heart of New York. The impressive initiative, in which various Dutch horticultural firms have collaborated, is now in the race for an award. The EatThis concept is a finalist in the Dutch Creativity Awards.

The initiative was part of the Countryside exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in the US city. The exhibition, which ran from February 2020 to February 2021, showed the development of the countryside through the ages using a number of themes. This was visualized by connecting to different regions of the world. For the themes of food and food production, the spotlight was on Dutch horticulture.
