Taylor Farms is launching the Watermelon Crunch Chopped Kit with real watermelon flavor.
The salad kit has a vegetable base of romaine lettuce sprinkled with crimson radicchio, feta cheese, chopped roasted almonds and toasted watermelon seeds. Consumers can enjoy as is or serve alongside summer dishes such as barbecued watermelon spears or grilled chili-lime shrimp.
The Watermelon Crunch Chopped Kit features toasted watermelon seeds and watermelon vinaigrette.
“Watermelon-infused items across product categories have quickly become must-haves,” said Charis Neves, director of innovation and product management.
“We are already hearing fan feedback that this new chopped salad is flavorful, refreshing and addictive,” said Chelsea Williams, product manager. “With this launch we explored adding visual elements like watermelon seeds to the outer packaging for an eye-catching display on-shelf.”
The Watermelon Crunch Chopped kit is the latest in the line of chopped salad kits, bringing it up to a portfolio of 24 kits for Taylor Farms.
In the last year, the value-added salad category has grown 15 percent[1] with more people eating at home and looking for quick, easy- to-prepare meals. Salad kits are up 22 percent versus last year. Taylor Farms continues to deliver new flavors bringing the complete portfolio of chopped kits to 24 with this newest addition.
The kit is available nationwide in the US and in Canada.
